Indiana University Health Virtual Behavioral Health is looking to add a Night shift Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to its staff in Indianapolis. The Behavioral Health Hub offers 24/7 access to providers, social workers and therapists for our IU Health hospitals throughout the state. As part of IU Health's strategic plan to improve the health of Hoosiers by focusing on mental health, we serve our hospitals and provide timely access to behavioral health care needs.

Position Highlights:

  • Opportunity to work in a virtual space from home
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population
  • Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
    • 2, 12-hr shifts/week
    • 6pm-6am
    • 2 required holidays per year
  • Provide psychiatric consults to 15+ emergency departments, inpatient units and primary care offices throughout the state
    • 80% inpatient, 20% outpatient
  • Primary focus will be crisis assessment, including dispositioning patients presenting suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, suicide attempts, acute psychosis, and substance abuse treatment. Medication management, medication and treatment recommendations, capacity evaluations, and triage are also significant components of this position.
  • Ideal candidate must feel comfortable working independently and collaborating with an interdiciplinary team of social workers, nurses, and other care team members.

Qualifications:

  • BE/BC PMHNP or PA, required
  • Licensure in the state of Indiana, required
  • Licensure in home state (if out of state), required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in psychiatry or significant psychiatric provider experience, required
  • Psychiatric related training preferred
