Job description
We’re seeking an experienced NP/PA to support an inpatient pediatric neurosurgery service in an acute care hospital setting. This is a locums, on-site assignment focused on inpatient patient care—no OR responsibilities (supported by a resident program). Ideal for clinicians comfortable with rounding workflows, placing orders, and supporting discharge planning.
Start date: 09/07/2026
Assignment length: 13 weeks
Job Responsibilities
• Assess patients who need to be seen and provide ongoing inpatient clinical support
• Enter/complete orders and coordinate care tasks throughout the shift
• Support discharge workflows and documentation completion
• Preferred: remove surgical drains (Hemovac and JP drains)
Qualifications
• Massachusetts license (required)
• Board Certified in Neurosurgery (required)
• Epic EMR experience (required)
• Preferred: ability/experience removing drains (e.g., Hemovac and JP)
Working Hours
• 13-hour day shifts: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• No nights
Skills
• Order entry and inpatient clinical workflow management
• Discharge planning support and task execution
• Strong documentation habits (Epic)
• Preferred procedural comfort: Hemovac/JP drain removal
