| Job Description: Client is an established interventional pain management practice with multiple locations throughout the Valley. Our multidisciplinary team provides individualized, evidence-based care for patients experiencing both chronic and acute pain. Our comprehensive approach incorporates a broad range of treatment options, including: Medication management Image-guided spine and joint procedures Spinal cord stimulation Peripheral nerve stimulation Intrathecal pain pump therapy Other advanced interventional pain treatments We are committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care while helping patients improve function, manage pain, and achieve meaningful quality-of-life outcomes. Client is seeking a clinically skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at our Sun City, Arizona location. This on-site position will focus on the comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with a variety of chronic and acute pain conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with our experienced interventional pain physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team. Pain management experience is preferred but not required. This opportunity is also well suited for a motivated PA or NP interested in developing specialized expertise in interventional pain management and advanced pain therapies. |
Job Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation & Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive new-patient evaluations and follow-up visits.
Obtain detailed medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
Evaluate patients presenting with acute and chronic pain conditions.
Assess functional status, treatment response, and changes in symptoms.
Review and interpret imaging studies, laboratory results, and other diagnostic information.
Identify changes in patient condition that may require additional evaluation or physician consultation.
Treatment Planning & Clinical Management:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
Manage patients throughout the course of treatment and adjust care plans based on clinical response.
Manage medications appropriately while monitoring treatment effectiveness, safety, and potential adverse effects.
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
Promote appropriate non-operative and interventional treatment strategies.
Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals when additional services are indicated
Qualifications
Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient evaluation and care.
Coordinate interventional treatment plans with pain management physicians.
Assist with the clinical management of patients receiving advanced pain therapies.
Develop familiarity with procedures and technologies including:
Image-guided spine procedures
Joint injections and interventions
Spinal cord stimulation
Peripheral nerve stimulation
Intrathecal pain pump therapy
Other advanced interventional pain treatments
Monitor patient progress following procedures and communicate significant findings to the appropriate clinical team members.
Patient Education & Communication:
Explain diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and procedures in a clear and understandable manner.
Establish strong, trusting relationships with patients and their families.
Address patient questions and concerns regarding treatment.
Encourage patient participation in treatment planning and long-term pain management.
Promote a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Documentation & Collaboration:
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records.
Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, medication management, follow-up care, and clinical outcomes.
Collaborate closely with interventional pain physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in coordinated care planning and clinical decision-making.
Follow applicable clinical, regulatory, and practice standards.
Working Hours
Active or eligible Arizona Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care.
Professional approach to patient confidentiality, documentation, and clinical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous pain management experience preferred but not required.
Experience with medication management preferred.
Experience caring for patients with chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, spine disorders, or related conditions.
Familiarity with interventional pain procedures and/or neuromodulation therapies.
Interest in developing advanced expertise in interventional pain management.
