Locum - Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Trauma Opportunity in Redding, CA!

ATC Locums is seeking experienced Trauma/Critical Care PAs or NPs for an urgent opportunity in Northern California. This is a strong fit for an APP who enjoys high-acuity trauma care, wants meaningful autonomy within a dedicated trauma service, and values working directly alongside an experienced trauma team.

• Potential to provide coverage across multiple dates in September and October

Assignment Details

• Practice Setting: Level II Trauma Center
• Schedule: 3:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m. PM shifts
• Coverage Dates: Sept. 4–6; Oct. 7; Oct. 11–14; Oct. 18–21; Oct. 24–29
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20–25 patients on the Trauma Service per day
• Call: Support the trauma surgeon on call; monitor, manage, and discharge Trauma Service patients
• EMR: Cerner Care B
• Support Staff: Additional Trauma NP/PA covering 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., plus Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Coordinator
• Credentialing: Estimated 15–30 days once a complete application is received

Clinical Scope

Responsibilities include trauma evaluations, treatment planning, diagnostic orders, admissions, referrals, patient education, and ongoing management. Procedures may include laceration repair, wound debridement, I&D, fracture and dislocation reductions, central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion/removal, cervical spine clearance, burn management, and foreign body removal.

Requirements

• PA or NP with Trauma/Critical Care experience
• NCCPA or ANCC certification
• Active California license
• CA DEA; NP furnishing number as applicable
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS
• Current clinical practice at a TJC-accredited hospital
