Job description

The Lung Transplant/Thoracic Surgery night shift APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team.

The APP functions as a member of the lung transplant and thoracic surgery surgical management teams.

In conjunction with the attending, the APP will oversee care from OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care. The APP may provide care throughout the system including ICU, progressive, and telemetry.

The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care.

The APP demonstrates

  • advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge
  • clinical and technical competency
  • sound clinical judgment
  • professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills
  • timely and compliant documentation
  • responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.

One year of related work experience required.

Qualified candidates will have either APRN or PA-C.

  • Night positions will receive priority for PTO amongst the team.
  • Night positions automatically receive 10% increase in pay compared to day positions.
  • Night positions only work 6 shifts in a pay period rather than 7 shifts required for day positions.

Qualifications

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Certification (or enrollment in Post Master’s ACNP program within one year of hire);
or
Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
