Job description
Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI), part of Memorial Healthcare System, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team. MCI is a designated Cancer Center of Excellence by the Florida Department of Health.
The selected candidate will function as a healthcare provider in an outpatient setting, delivering evidence based care including, but not limited to, diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative services under the general supervision of a physician. Responsibilities will include providing follow-up and health maintenance care based on accepted standards of care and best practices. The provider will also organize and present historical and physical data, along with evaluations and recommendations, to the healthcare team in a structured and meaningful way to support medical decision making.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Pulmonary, Thoracic, Abdominal, Cancer or Imaging service line, with at least two years of relevant clinical experience. Candidates must have a national Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification or must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by the date of hire.
Schedule requirements are Monday thru Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, with no weekend or call expectations, but with occasional community events that may take place on a weekend or evening. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
