We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our client’s team in providing specialized care for children with neurological disorders. The NP will work closely with pediatric neurologists, healthcare staff, and families to diagnose, treat, and manage conditions such as epilepsy, migraines, developmental delays, and other neurological disorders. The ideal candidate will be skilled in clinical assessments, patient education, and long-term care management while creating a supportive environment for both patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments and neurological evaluations for pediatric patients with a range of neurological conditions.
  • Collaborate with pediatric neurologists to develop individualized care plans, including diagnostic tests, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions such as epilepsy, migraines, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and neurogenetic disorders.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including MRIs, EEGs, and blood work to support clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on neurological conditions, ensuring proper dosage and management.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on neurological conditions, treatment plans, and prognosis.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed, providing ongoing support to manage chronic conditions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and coordinate patient care.
  • Work closely with rehabilitation therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Advocate for pediatric patients and assist families in navigating the healthcare system and accessing support services.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in pediatric neurology and participate in continuing education and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in NJ.
  • National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatrics or pediatric neurology (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric neurology, neurological disorders, and treatments.
  • Excellent clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and managing pediatric neurological conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
