Annual Salary: $120k-$155k (varies depending on years of experience)

A respected healthcare organization is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with a strong interest in adult neurology to join a collaborative outpatient team. This role focuses on supporting patients with a wide range of neurological conditions in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuroscience, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work closely with neurologists and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, including detailed histories and focused physical exams.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with conditions such as epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, migraines, and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Order and interpret neurodiagnostic tests (e.g., EEG, MRI, CT, EMG) in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Document findings and treatment plans in the EMR using evidence-based neurology guidelines.
  • Prescribe and manage medications for neurological conditions, adjusting treatment based on patient response and side effects.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding neurological diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term care strategies.
  • Participate in care coordination with referring providers, primary care teams, and allied health professionals.
  • Support inpatient rounding and discharge planning for neurology patients as needed.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Prior experience or strong interest in neurology or internal medicine preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
