Shift: Rotating schedule with one week of 24/7 NICU inpatient service coverage followed by one week off-service. Every-other-night call during on-service weeks.
Position Details:
Patient Population: Premature, critically ill, and other newborn infants; well babies
Setting: 35-bed Level III NICU and newborn nursery at a regional referral center
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive neonatal care, manage high-acuity NICU patients, support advanced neonatal interventions, participate in well-baby rounding, collaborate with four Neonatologists and 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage, and coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Required Procedures: Advanced neonatal interventions, including high-frequency ventilation and therapeutic hypothermia
Support Staff: Four-Neonatologist team, 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage, and pediatric subspecialty support including Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Days Per Month: Rotating schedule of one week on service followed by one week off service
On-Call/Weekends: Weekend coverage required on a rotating basis; every-other-night call during on-service weeks
Submission Requirements:
- Truly Board Eligible or Board Certified in the relevant specialty
- South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain; highly preferred
- Specify J-1/H-1B visa support needs; active NPDB self-query within 30 days required at presentation; DEA required before start
