A respected children's hospital in Texas is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for an ongoing locum tenens assignment in a high-acuity Level IV NICU. This opportunity offers consistent weekend coverage, a collaborative clinical environment, and the chance to work alongside an established neonatal care team.

Position Details

• Specialty: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
• Practice Setting: Inpatient Neonatology
• Level IV NICU
• Ongoing locum tenens assignment
• Weekend coverage only
• 24-hour in-house call shifts (8:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
• Coverage needed 1-2 weekends per month
• January 2027 start
• Long-term commitment preferred

Practice Environment

• 52-bed neonatal department
• Approximately 30-35 patient encounters during coverage periods
• Collaborative team of neonatal specialists and APPs
• Epic EMR
• Supportive, well-established clinical program

Requirements

• Board-Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
• Active Texas license or ability to obtain
• DEA required
• Current NRP, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience in a Level IV NICU preferred

Required Clinical Skills

• Neonatal intubation and airway management
• Lumbar punctures
• Arterial line placement
• Central line placement
• Chest tube management
