NICU NP Locum Opportunity – Charlottesville, VA - $95.00/hr to $110.00/hr

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Specialty: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / NICU NP

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks with Option to Extend

Schedule

• 3–5 shifts per month

• 12-hour shifts

• Must be willing to rotate days, nights, and weekends

• Primary need is for night shift coverage

• Part-time and PRN availability considered

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Level IV NICU

• 64-bed NICU

• EMR: Epic

Patient Population

• Infants and neonates

Patient Volume

• Day Shift: Approximately 8 mixed-acuity patients

• Night Shift: Approximately 20–30 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• NICU patient management

• Attendance at high-risk deliveries

• Ventilator management

• Intubations

• Central line placement (PICC, UAC, UVC)

• Lumbar punctures

• ECMO support experience preferred (patients managed by fellows)

• Work independently and autonomously within a Level IV NICU environment

Requirements

• Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)

• Active Virginia license required

• DEA required

• CSR required

• BLS required

• PALS required

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience

• Neonatal training required

• Level IV NICU experience required

• High-risk delivery experience required

• Must be comfortable practicing independently

Credentialing

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 45–60 days

• Virginia licensing currently taking approximately 8 weeks
