Neonatal NP/PA – NICU – New Jersey

We are seeking experienced Neonatal APPs for ongoing coverage in a Level II Special Care Nursery setting. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with day, night, and potential 24-hour shifts in a collaborative neonatal care environment.

Assignment Details

• ASAP start
• Ongoing coverage
• Multiple providers needed
• Coverage required 7 days per week

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Potential 24-hour shifts
• Weekday and weekend opportunities
• No call responsibilities

Practice Setting

• Level II Special Care Nursery / NICU
• Hospital-based neonatal coverage
• Epic EMR
• Solo APP coverage with physician backup available

Clinical Responsibilities

• Cover Well Baby Nursery
• Attend deliveries
• Perform neonatal assessments
• Neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Evaluate newborns with clinical concerns
• Conduct routine nursery rounds
• Coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are required

Delivery Responsibilities

• Attend all Cesarean deliveries
• Attend high-risk vaginal deliveries
• Attend deliveries requested by OB team
• Serve as primary pediatric provider onsite during assigned shift

Patient Volume

• Average nursery census: 5
• Average deliveries per day: 5
• Typical patient load: 10–12 newborns

Support Structure

• Physician backup call available
• Respiratory therapist onsite
• Labor & Delivery staff trained in neonatal resuscitation
• Neonatology consultation support available

Requirements

• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or experienced Neonatal Physician Assistant
• Strong neonatal experience required
• Comfortable attending deliveries independently
• Must be proficient in neonatal resuscitation
