We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join a nationally recognized Level IV NICU in Los Angeles, California. Schedule
Full-time schedule consists of a combination of:
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Night Shift: 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Typical full-time staffing includes a combination of day and night shifts per pay period to meet required hours.
Weekend and holiday coverage is shared among providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level IV NICU setting.
- Attend and manage high-risk deliveries, including neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
- Perform detailed neonatal assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Manage complex respiratory support, including conventional and high-frequency ventilation.
- Perform advanced neonatal procedures, including:
- Endotracheal intubation
- Umbilical line placement
- Lumbar punctures
- Chest tube insertion
- PICC line placement
- Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate and support families throughout hospitalization and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Certification
- Current California RN License
- California Neonatal Nurse Practitioner License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Furnishing License (or eligibility to obtain)
- DEA Registration (Schedule II-V)
- Current BLS Certification
- Current PALS Certification (or ability to obtain during onboarding)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
- Experience in a NICU environment
Preferred
- Experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU
- Advanced neonatal procedural experience
- Experience managing high-risk deliveries and critically ill neonates
