UPDATE* - Providence Women’s and Children’s Services is seeking full-time
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistants who have completed a 12-month
Neonatal PA fellowship or residency program to join a well-established team of
practitioners in Portland, Oregon. In this role you will provide clinical management of
high-risk neonates and infants, patient education, and work collaboratively with medical,
nursing and support services to provide high-value, family centered care. You will also
exercise autonomy of practice in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests
to drive the patient treatment plans. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
coverage provided at both Providence St. Vincent and Providence Portland Medical
Centers, both teaching hospitals with Level III NICUs, Maternal Fetal Medicine
Consultation, and OB Hospitalist support. Coverage will be at
Medical Center but the providers will be working at other site
as well. Both are a level 3 NICU. site has the more smaller and sicker patients so is a
little bit more intensive than other site. In hospital work 12 or 24 hour shifts (7am-7pm or
7am-7am). the facility is usually a 24hr shift as it is less intensive but either one will be ok to
pick up. There are 13 NNP's they work for Medical Group. Neonatal physicians
are contracted so they don't work for them but partner with them. NNP has patients on
their service but are a lot of unit-based support, attend deliveries and do all procedures.
Physicians do the daily check ins with patients. There is an office at both site for them to
use after hours and during the day. Delivery room volume is high so experience with this
type of work is preferred. - one has volume: 3,000 - another has volume: 4,500 Patients per
