Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join a high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves providing advanced neonatal care, managing critically ill newborns, and collaborating closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary teams in a hospital-based setting.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, independent decision-making ability, and confidence in managing complex neonatal cases in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for critically ill newborns
• Attend high-risk deliveries and stabilize neonates
• Perform neonatal procedures within scope of practice
• Manage ventilators and respiratory support modalities
• Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document patient care accurately in EMR systems
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and clinical protocols
• Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and staff meetings
Qualifications
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification (NNP-BC)
• Nurse Practitioner Certification (NP-C)
• Active RN and NP Licensure (Georgia State or eligible)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• 4+ years of experience in supervisory or independent clinical decision-making roles
• Prior Level III or Level IV NICU experience
