Assignment Overview
- Coverage Type: In-hospital, Level III NICU
- Shifts: 12- or 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
- Patients per Shift:
- Location One: ~22 (smaller, higher acuity)
- Location Two: ~10 (less intensive)
- Number of Providers Needed: 2
- Call: None
Schedule & Locations
- Location One: More intensive, higher acuity NICU, delivery room support
- Location Two: Less intensive, still 24-hour shift coverage available
- Providers rotate between both Level III NICU sites
- License: OR NP/PA license – Required (willing to obtain accepted)
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
- NRP – Required
- EMR: Epic
- Trauma Level: III
- Procedures: Attend deliveries, perform unit-based procedures, manage high-risk neonates
- Team Structure: 13 NNPs in Medical Group; neonatal physicians contracted and provide daily check-ins
- High Delivery Volume:
- Location One: 4,500 deliveries/year
- Location Two: 3,000 deliveries/year
- Call Type: Beeper
- Response Time: 30 minutes (unit-based support and supervision available)
- Experience with high-volume deliveries and Level III NICU preferred
- Providers exercise autonomy in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostics
