Requirements to Apply
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (Master’s degree required)
  • Active RN & APRN license (for NPs) or Physician Assistant license (for PAs)
  • Prescriptive Authority License & Board Certification (NNP or PA-C with neonatal experience)
  • BLS/CPR (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of combined RN, NP, or PA neonatal experience (high-risk neonatal preferred)

Job Overview
We are seeking Neonatal Advanced Practice Practitioners (NPs or PAs) to join our Level IV NICU team in Aurora, CO. This full-time opportunity offers flexible scheduling (minimum 20 hours/week for benefits eligibility) with multiple FTEs available. In this role, you will provide family-centered care to infants and toddlers up to age two—delivering primary, acute, chronic, and critical care. Responsibilities include performing histories and physicals, managing acute and chronic conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and making referrals as appropriate. APPs serve as both direct care providers and clinical leaders, with opportunities to mentor, precept, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Shifts include 24-hour (6:00am–6:00am) coverage with options for 12-hour day or night shifts. Weekend, holiday, and call responsibilities are required. Standard scheduling is based on 6-week blocks, with a 0.9 FTE equating to ~3 twelve-hour shifts per week or 1–2 twenty-four-hour shifts per week.
