At Brenner Children's Hospital, our Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) are integral to our commitment to providing exceptional care. Delivering top-tier Level II, III, and IV services, our expansive NICU serves over 700 infants annually from across the South. Our team is a passionate group of healthcare professionals, including skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), who specialize in treating a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions. Job Responsibilities

As a valued member of our NICU team, the NNP will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in medical setting. Responsibilities include:

- Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to provide nursing and selected medical procedures for neonates and infants

- Communicates and collaborates with appropriate members of the health care team, including patient families

- Works to improve the quality of care provided to neonates

- Advances the care of neonates through participation in and application of the research process. Shares knowledge on a formal and informal basis with interdisciplinary team as relates to specialty area

- Ensures the continuous quality of professional services by maintaining updated knowledge and skills

- Maintaining current and valid licensure with the State Board of Nursing to provide continuous nursing services to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne disease(s)

- Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served

- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

- The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Requirements:
Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
Board certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
Welcoming to new and experienced NNP providers
BCLS, PALS and NRP required

Working Hours

12-hour shifts, variable shifts, weekend and holidays required
