Job Description

Last Update: 4/15/24

To prospective teammates,

I am a Regional Medical Director with Sound Critical Care and I have been a part of the critical care team since 2004. I’m proud of the intensivist teams that we have built over the last 20 years and feel strongly that our ambassador (travel) team has played a large role in our ability to expand over the years. I welcome interest from experienced critical care advanced practice providers (APPs) looking to join our growing team of ambassadors. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your next steps:

People
  • We’re an established and quickly growing team of experienced critical care APPs from various practice backgrounds, focused on the care of ICU patients.
  • Our team members live throughout the country and travel to our hospital partner sites nationwide.
  • Our critical care APPs all have at least 3 years of ICU experience as independent practitioners and are passionate about teamwork, integrity, and delivering high-quality patient care.
Practice
  • Our ambassador APPs practice in various ICU settings and are highly adaptable.
  • Our nurse practitioners and physician assistants have the opportunity to lead and develop new team models and mentor new team members.
  • Ambassadors participate in any team meetings and initiatives to drive high-quality care and bring better care to the bedside.
  • Our ambassador clinician’s airfare and lodging are paid for by Sound in addition to their compensation.
  • Ambassadors work a modified block schedule to maximize travel and minimize transitions.
  • Sounds’ licensing team will help manage the procurement of any state licenses needed to work at one of our hospital partner locations. We’ll cover the cost of these licenses.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • Compensation of $180,000+ depending on shift commitment
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • Focusing on growth and development is a key feature of Sound practices, where teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
