OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and autonomous Night Hospitalist Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our collaborative hospital medicine team in Rockford, Illinois. This nocturnist position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient care in a supportive environment while working alongside experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialists.
As a Night Hospitalist APN, you will play a key role in managing hospitalized adult patients, responding to acute clinical needs, coordinating care transitions, and ensuring continuity of care throughout overnight operations.
Position Highlights
- Full-time night shift position
- Flexible schedule. 7-on/7-off model, 4- 10s and linked 12- hour shifts can be considered
- Collaborative hospitalist team environment
- Admitting and cross-cover responsibilities
- Comprehensive orientation and onboarding program

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inpatient assessments and treatment plans
- Manage admissions, consults, and overnight clinical issues
- Evaluate and treat acute changes in patient condition
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory results
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Facilitate communication with patients and families
- Document care accurately and efficiently within EPIC

- Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $62.65
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services
Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2-3 years of experience in hospital medicine
