Hematology/Oncology APP (NP or PA) – Missouri

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for a 13-week locum assignment supporting an inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology & Cellular Therapy service at an academic medical center. This opportunity is ideal for APPs with prior inpatient BMT experience who are passionate about caring for complex hematology and transplant patients.

Assignment Details

• 13-week assignment
• Scheduled shifts
• No call
• Missouri license required (willing to license qualified candidates)

Schedule

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM–6:00 PM (may transition to 7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Ongoing inpatient coverage
• Monthly schedule provided by the facility

Practice Setting

• Academic Medical Center
• Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Hematology & Cellular Therapy
• Adult patient population
• Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform bone marrow biopsies
• Manage stem cell infusions and transfusions
• Admit and round on inpatient BMT patients
• Coordinate discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education
• Diagnose and manage transplant-related complications, including:
  • Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)
  • Cytokine release syndrome (CRS)
  • Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS)

Patient Volume

• Average daily census of 8–12 patients

Team Structure

• Collaborate with attending physicians
• Multidisciplinary inpatient transplant team

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• Active Missouri license or willingness to obtain one
• Minimum 1.5–2 years of inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant APP experience
• Epic experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred

Credentialing

• Approximately 60–90 days
• Temporary privileges may be available

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Hematology/Oncology NP or PA with dedicated inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant experience who is comfortable managing complex transplant patients, performing bone marrow biopsies, and working collaboratively within a high-acuity academic transplant program.
