Location: Bowling Green, KY area (2 facilities within 10 miles)
Duration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide specialized wound care services to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This role focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care, managing complex wounds, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide wound care services to long-term care residents

Assess, diagnose, and treat chronic and complex wounds (diabetic, arterial, venous, mixed etiology, pressure injuries, Kennedy ulcers)

Stage pressure injuries according to NPIAP guidelines

Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with Kentucky law

Order, review, and follow up on labs, imaging, and diagnostic testing

Utilize advanced wound care products and equipment, including wound vacs and pressure-relief devices

Communicate regularly with nursing staff regarding patient status and care plans

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Document care accurately within EMR systems
Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky

Board Certification

DEA license required
-
Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties

Experience treating chronic or complex wounds

Experience working in long-term care settings

Familiarity with advanced wound care modalities and products

Proficiency with EMR systems

Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Wound care certification (or willingness to obtain)

Experience with population health and chronic disease management

Skills in comprehensive assessment, care planning, and follow-up
Work Environment

Contract assignment supporting two nearby skilled nursing facilities
