Job description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a collaborative Gastroenterology team serving patients in both clinic and inpatient settings.
The NP will evaluate and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide patient and family education.
Experience in Gastroenterology, Acute Care, Cardiology, Family Medicine, Women's Health, or Urgent Care is preferred, with Gastroenterology experience strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose acute and chronic conditions
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Prescribe medications and monitor patient response
Provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment, and prevention
Coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Promote preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices
Participate in continuing education and professional development
Qualifications
National NP certification
Master's degree required; PhD a plus
Previous NP experience in a clinic, hospital, ER, or similar setting
Strong knowledge of acute and chronic care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong professional ethics and positive attitude
Epic EMR experience preferred
Working Hours
Hospital rotations: Schedule varies based on coverage needs
Call: Occasional night call
