Job description
Protean Med is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time primary care opportunity serving homeless and underserved communities in Atlanta, Georgia.
Location: Atlanta, GA
Position Type: Locum Tenens – Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP (December 2026 may be feasible)
EMR: Epic
Position Highlights

No nights, call, or regular weekend shifts

Outpatient community clinic setting
-
Target of approximately 13 patients per day

Work at both downtown Atlanta and Chamblee clinic locations

Training provided for caring for patients with HIV and supporting integrated behavioral health services
Requirements
-
Active Georgia license or qualifying active IMLC with proof of LOQ at Name Clear
-
AANP certification (NP) or NCCPA certification (PA)
-
Minimum 2 years of post-training experience

BLS certification
-
Experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or a similar clinical setting

Must be comfortable performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, and employment physicals

Current background check completed within 60 days at presentation

COVID-19 vaccination required

Spanish-speaking candidates preferred, but not required
Experience serving underserved, immigrant, and homeless populations is highly preferred.
