Experienced Nurse Practitioner
Specialty Training Provided in Hepatology and Gastroenterology
Two Openings: Tucson, Arizona and Show Low, Arizona
Full-Time | Onsite | Relocation Assistance Available
Base Compensation: Approximately $135,000–$170,000, Depending on Experience
Additional Travel Bonuses, Mileage Reimbursement and Performance Incentives
Are you an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner looking for an opportunity to develop valuable specialty expertise while building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients?
NorTek Medical Staffing is recruiting two experienced Nurse Practitioners for a growing Arizona specialty practice focused on hepatology, gastroenterology, metabolic health, and complex chronic disease management.
One provider will be hired for Tucson, and one will be hired for Show Low.
Previous gastroenterology or hepatology experience is not required. It is a significant advantage, but the practice is equally interested in strong Family Nurse Practitioners and Primary Care Nurse Practitioners who bring at least three years of NP experience, excellent bedside manner, strong clinical judgment, and a genuine urgency to learn.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced provider who wants to move beyond traditional primary care, develop specialty knowledge, participate in clinical research, and learn procedures under the guidance of an experienced hepatology team.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Choose between opportunities in Tucson or Show Low
- Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
- Approximately $135,000–$170,000 in base compensation, depending on experience and specialty readiness
- No previous GI or hepatology experience required
- Structured orientation and ongoing specialty education
- Training in liver disease management, research, paracentesis, and therapeutic phlebotomy
- Additional $200 bonus for assigned satellite clinic days
- Business mileage reimbursement
- Approved lodging for qualifying travel assignments
- Annual performance incentive eligibility
- Clinical research and subinvestigator opportunities
- Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and sick leave
- Long-term growth within an expanding specialty practice
- Direct collaboration with an experienced transplant hepatologist
The Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate does not necessarily need a gastroenterology résumé.
We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who is:
- Clinically confident and capable of managing patients independently within established scope and competency
- Warm, compassionate, and highly personable with patients and families
- Experienced in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, chronic disease management, or a related outpatient setting
- Comfortable evaluating medically complex patients and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic findings
- Motivated to develop expertise in hepatology and gastroenterology
- Proactive about learning and willing to study outside scheduled clinical hours when necessary
- Reliable, accountable, organized, and committed to long-term professional growth
- Comfortable following standardized clinical protocols and documentation requirements
- Able to recognize changes in condition and involve the physician appropriately
- Interested in becoming a trusted specialty provider rather than simply filling a short-term position
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current national Nurse Practitioner certification
- Family Nurse Practitioner or another appropriate primary care certification
- At least three years of professional Nurse Practitioner experience
- Arizona NP credentials in place before providing clinical services
- Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain it, as applicable
- Strong clinical assessment and chronic disease-management skills
- Excellent bedside manner and patient-education ability
- Strong written documentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to complete the practice’s required pre-interview questionnaire
- Commitment to ongoing specialty education and independent learning
New graduate Nurse Practitioners are not being considered.
