Nurse Practitioner (Family Medicine) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Night Shift Premium
Long-Term Assignment

The Opportunity
Work in a fast-paced, high-impact correctional healthcare setting where your clinical skills make an immediate difference. This long-term assignment offers consistent night shifts, strong nursing support, and the opportunity to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Assignment Details
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 12 months
- Schedule:
- Thursday-Saturday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Every other Wednesday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Full-time: 80 hours every 2 weeks (OT after 80 hours)
- Setting: Correctional Facility (Outpatient)
- Call Schedule and Call Responsibilities: No Call
- Type of patients / cases / procedures required: Adult population (men + women), with a rare adolescent patient
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

What You'll Do
- Perform intake assessments for newly incarcerated individuals during night shifts
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Supervise detox protocols alongside substance use nursing staff
- Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
- Manage care for an adult population (men and women; rare adolescent cases)
- Work independently overnight with in-house nursing support and physician backup by phone
- Utilize TechCare EMR for documentation
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Family Medicine
- Active Pennsylvania license (required)
- Prior emergency medicine or high-acuity experience strongly preferred
- Night shift experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently in a correctional setting
- Willingness to commit to at least 2 weeks/month (full-time strongly preferred)
