Urgent Need: FNP- Chicago

We are seeking a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join a busy walk-in community clinic providing primary care and same-day care services to patients of all ages, from newborns through adults.

Coverage needed: 10/8-21

Position Highlights

• Walk-in clinic setting with no scheduled appointments
• Care for patients of all ages, including newborns
• Mix of primary care, wellness, chronic disease management, and acute sick visits
• Collaborative environment with provider, MA, and patient education support
• Diverse patient population with strong support for Spanish-speaking patients

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services, including wellness and preventive care
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses such as colds, coughs, flu, and other common conditions
• Manage chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, and other ongoing health concerns
• Perform acute care evaluations and same-day visits
• Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans
• Collaborate with clinical staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care

Practice Environment

• Patient volume ranges from approximately 15-40 patients per day
• One additional provider onsite
• Dedicated support staff including:
  • 6 Medical Assistants
  • 2 Front Desk Representatives
  • 2 Patient Educators
• Spanish-speaking support available through clinical staff

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Active Illinois NP license
• Active Illinois DEA registration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of NP experience treating patients of all ages in an outpatient primary care setting
• Urgent care experience also considered
• Must be available to work the entire assignment period (10/8-10/21) with minimal time off needed
• Clean professional and background history required
