We are seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a full-time locum assignment in an outpatient correctional healthcare setting in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
- Specialty: Family Medicine
- Setting: Outpatient correctional healthcare
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 4 × 10-hour shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Assess urgent and emergent medical concerns
Provide initial medical evaluation and treatment
Supervise initiation of detoxification treatment for newly incarcerated individuals in coordination with substance-use specialist nurses
Coordinate care with nursing staff and the available physician
Provide appropriate documentation and follow-up care
Qualifications
Family Medicine experience preferred
Previous night-shift experience strongly preferred
Emergency Medicine background or experience preferred
Previous correctional healthcare experience is not required
Appropriate clinical credentials and certifications as required
Must be available for a full-time commitment
Working Hours
4 × 10-hour shifts
6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Thursday–Saturday: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Every other Wednesday: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
No call
Overtime may apply after 80 hours in a 2-week period.
