Job description

Job description

UHealth is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our traveling post-acute care team, providing high-quality patient care across skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities throughout North Carolina. This role is ideal for an NP who enjoys variety, independence, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact wherever they go.

This is a permanent, full-time travel-based position, with assignments ranging from a few days to a few months. You’ll rotate among facilities while returning home on weekends when possible—allowing you to explore new communities in two of the country's most beautiful states.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in post-acute settings
  • Manage and coordinate care plans for a diverse patient population
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff and consulting physicians
  • Serve as a trusted clinical leader and advocate for patients
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

Why You’ll Love Working with UHealth

  • Variety & adventure: Work in multiple facilities and communities across the state
  • Strong clinical support: Extensive onboarding and ongoing Medical Director oversight
  • Work-life balance: Monday–Friday, daytime hours only
  • Minimal call: Limited, phone-based coverage
  • Competitive compensation: $140,000–$147,000 base salary plus quarterly performance bonuses, daily stipend for food, housing and travel reimbursement
  • Mission-driven culture: Join a collaborative team focused on quality, compassion, and outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • Nurse Practitioner with experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Hospitalist Medicine, ICU, Emergency Medicine, or General Practice
  • Minimum of one year of clinical/NP experience required
  • Active North Carolina NP license with an unencumbered DEA license
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
  • Strong communicator with a patient-first mindset

If you’re an energetic Nurse Practitioner who enjoys travel, flexibility, and meaningful clinical work, this is a unique opportunity to grow your skills while making a difference across multiple communities.
