A Medical Center in Eastern North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum inpatient coverage. Providers will complete a brief on-site orientation the day before starting.
This opportunity is ideal for locum clinicians who value strong pay rates, flexible shift options, and the ability to secure a more manageable schedule while supporting a high-acuity neurosurgery service.
Position Overview
- Facility: Hospital
- Location: Eastern North Carolina
- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Duration: Ongoing during recruitment
- Shift: Night shift, 7p–7a, with flexibility that supports providers seeking improved schedule balance
- Orientation: Required the day before first shift
Clinical Details
- Inpatient-only neurosurgery APP role
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- Established team of 9 Neurosurgeons and 9 APPs
- 24/7 inpatient support
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
- Procedures include:
- Admissions and discharges
- Consultations
- OR first assist (optional)
- Night discharges are uncommon but may occur
