Job Title: Correctional Nurse Practitioner – Region 5
Location: Marysville 43040, Ohio
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule: No weekends or holidays
Hours per Week: 40
Duration: Approximately 4 months (with potential for extension)
Education Required: Master’s Degree
Position Overview
Seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio with at least one year of experience in primary care or hospital medicine. This role involves providing on-site primary care services to an adult patient population within a correctional healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within scope of practice
• Monitor and treat chronic illnesses using established healthcare protocols
• Perform routine physical examinations and assess patient health status
• Administer immunizations and vaccinations
• Prescribe medications and deliver appropriate treatments
• Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic tests
• Evaluate patients for specialty referrals and review consultation reports
• Perform minor procedures as permitted by training and competency
• Conduct patient rounds and provide ongoing clinical care
• Document patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare teams
• Participate in quality assurance and clinical oversight processes
Required Qualifications
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
• Board certification (ANCC or equivalent)
