Nurse Practitioner (Correctional Healthcare)
Location: Leavittsburg,44430,OH
Assignment Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Day shift (start/end time flexible based on facility needs)
Job Summary
Seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with primary care experience to provide on-site healthcare services in a correctional healthcare setting. The provider will deliver routine, chronic, and emergency medical care to the patient population while working collaboratively with the medical leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions following established clinical protocols and guidelines.
• Administer vaccinations and immunizations for communicable diseases.
• Prescribe medications and provide treatment for acute and chronic illnesses.
• Perform routine physical examinations to assess patient health and disease management.
• Diagnose new medical conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
• Evaluate patients for specialty referrals and review consultation reports.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.
• Perform minor procedures within scope of practice and competency.
• Conduct rounds on infirmary patients when required.
• Document patient encounters, assessments, and treatment plans according to healthcare documentation standards.
• Collaborate with medical leadership on quality assurance, treatment planning, and patient care improvements.
• Assist with medical reclassification reviews and medication management when required.

Required Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner program)
• Active Nurse Practitioner license (state where practicing)
• Minimum 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience in Primary Care
• Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• BLS/CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider Level)
• DEA certification (preferred or required depending on assignment)
