Job description A healthcare practice in Washington Heights is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Physician or Surgeon. The provider may work independently while consulting with physicians when necessary. The role involves evaluating patients, diagnosing illnesses or injuries, developing treatment plans, and ensuring continuity of care. Candidates should possess strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patient care
• Coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment
• Perform physical examinations and clinical assessments
• Document patient encounters accurately in medical records
• Prescribe medications as appropriate
• Maintain a pleasant and professional bedside manner
• See new patients and follow-up with major medical patients
• Take and review social and medical histories
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following policies and regulations
• Assist the practice physician when needed
• Develop and implement treatment plans for patients

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the practicing state (or eligibility to obtain)
• National board certification (AANP/ANCC for NP) preferred
• Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)

Working Hours

• Twice per week
• 8 hours per day

Skills

• Experience in pain management, primary care, or outpatient clinical settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills
• Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans
• Proficiency in documenting patient encounters in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with supervising physicians
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
