This facility is part of Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a government contractor helping our nation's Veterans. As a Maximus company, they provide crucial medical evaluations and disability assessments to support veterans' benefits claims in a professional and efficient environment.
Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Job Details:
• Perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans • PRN basis with ongoing opportunities • Option to work half days (4-hours) and/or full days (8-hours) • One-time non-treatment CP exams and separation health assessments • Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing) • No prescribing or treatment required • Must be within 50 miles of the Houston facility • Quick credentialing and onboarding process • Accepting specialties: family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or anyone with background in general medicine • DMA certification required (can get CME credits) - must obtain once privileged • Use of Goniometer required • Must be familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions • Must be proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions • Personal laptop required (NO MACs) • Training provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) • Reports must be submitted within 48 hours of exam completion • Evaluations completed in VES's provider portal • Record review required in most cases • Board Certification required • Active and unrestricted license required • Local candidates only, travel included in rates
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
