This medical center is a Level 3 trauma facility offering comprehensive healthcare services to the local community. The hospital features a dedicated preoperative clinic where providers conduct important patient assessments and consultations for surgical patients.

Opportunity:
Board Certified - Pre-OP Anesthesia APP (NP or PA)

Job Details:
• Full-time position (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) for approximately 14 weeks
• Perform preoperative consults on surgical patients including risk assessment and information gathering
• Conduct approximately 9 patient encounters per shift
• Write comprehensive consult notes for day of surgery
• Report abnormal labs and tests to medical director
• Answer questions for RNs in clinic and discuss patient concerns with medical director
• Alert medical director to any logistical issues
• Outpatient clinic work only - no OR or surgical assisting required
• Requires at least 50 clinical services/cases or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months
• Must have an active California license and California DEA
• BLS certification required
• Hospital privileges required (privileging timeline 90-120 days)
• Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime after 8 hours
• 2 years of current hospital clinical activity required with no gaps greater than 3 months

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
