Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner
Location: Lebanon OH 45036
Duration: 3 Months to Long term
Schedule: 08:00 AM to 8:00 PM (40 Hours/Week)
Summary:
Searching for a family or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner licensed to work in Ohio with at least one year of working NP experience in primary care to provide on-site services full-time to the male population at this correctional facility.
Job description:
⦁ Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using ODRC policies and protocols for guidance
⦁ Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases & prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery as training & competency allows
⦁ Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions & diagnoses new conditions
⦁ Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution & reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly
⦁ Orders & reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, & other diagnostic testing as appropriate
⦁ With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification & requests for non-formulary medications as necessary
⦁ Performs routine & emergency medical care of patients as scheduled
⦁ Examines, diagnoses & treats patients within scope of practice, as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board, as applicable
⦁ Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO
⦁ Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to ODRC Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines, policies, protocols & related American Correctional Association standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments & diagnostic impressions, as well as any other treatment plans & follow-up parameters
⦁ Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance
Requirement:
⦁ 1 + year of working NP experience in primary care
⦁ Masters Degree
⦁ BLS/CPR certification
⦁ Ohio Medical License
⦁ ANCC Certificate
⦁ Drug Enforcement Administration certification
