Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner
Location: Lima, OH 45802
Shift: Weekdays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 3 + Month (Long term contract)
Job Description:
Seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio with at least one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine to provide on-site primary care services to the male population at a correctional facility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage chronic illnesses using established policies and protocols.
• Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform routine physical exams and diagnose new conditions.
• Evaluate the need for specialty referrals and review consult recommendations.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory, x-ray, and diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer on medical reclassification and non-formulary medication requests.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.
• Conduct rounds and document patient assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up.
• Adhere to state nursing regulations, institutional policies, and quality standards.
• Cooperate with medical quality oversight and accept guidance as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
• Board Certification in Family or Adult-Gerontology NP
• Healthcare-professional level BLS/CPR certification
• At least 1-year NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine
