TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage in an Emergency Department in Nags Head, North Carolina. This opportunity offers flexible shift coverage within an established clinical team at a community hospital with 24-hour emergency services, onsite diagnostic support, and access to specialty consultations. Candidates must have recent inpatient Emergency Department experience within the last 12 months.

Orientation: New providers must attend orientation the day before their scheduled coverage.

Coverage Schedule
Night Shifts: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and Emergency Department patient care.
Evaluate and manage acute medical conditions within the provider's scope of practice.
Respond to codes as required.
Collaborate with the established physician and advanced practice provider team.
Coordinate specialty consultations and patient transfers when clinically indicated.
Practice Environment
Established team of 6 physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants.
Average total inpatient census of approximately 20 patients.
24-hour Emergency Department.
Hospital resources include:
18 acute care medical-surgical beds.
2 labor and delivery/recovery beds.
1 Level II nursery bed.
3 operating rooms and a designated cesarean section room.
Anesthesiology support.
Onsite radiology services.
24-hour laboratory availability.
Specialty consultation available for General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, and Telestroke.
Emergency patient transfer support through air and ground transport services.
ICU/Critical Care Duties: None.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant eligible to practice in North Carolina.
Recent inpatient Emergency Department experience within the last 12 months is required.
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Current PALS or APLS certification through the American Heart Association.
North Carolina DEA registration required.
Ability to respond to codes and provide acute patient care in a hospital-based setting.
