About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide long-term locum coverage at a hospital in Central New York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated Emergency Medicine team in a lower-volume setting with strong clinical support.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform advanced emergency procedures including:
Resuscitation
Intubation (including surgical airways)
Ventilator management
Pressor agent administration
Procedural sedation
Interpretation of blood gases
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using MedHost EMR
- Work collaboratively with nursing and respiratory therapy staff
Qualifications
- Board Certified – Required
- Emergency Medicine experience preferred
- Comfortable practicing independently
- Strong procedural and critical decision-making skills
Working Hours
- Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- No call
- Daily Census: 8–21 patients
- Annual Volume: Approximately 10,000 visits
ED Capacity: 8 beds
