Job description
Established physician-led dermatology practice in the Austin Metro Area is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team.
This opportunity is ideal for a dermatology-trained APP who is comfortable independently evaluating and treating medical dermatology patients while working collaboratively with board-certified dermatologists.
The provider will manage their own patient schedule in a supportive clinical environment with experienced staff and strong patient volume.
Prior dermatology provider experience is required. New graduates or providers without dermatology experience will not be considered.
Job Responsibilities
Manage medical dermatology patient visits
Perform comprehensive skin examinations
Develop individualized treatment plans
Manage conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, rashes, hair loss, and other dermatologic concerns
Evaluate suspicious lesions and skin cancer concerns
Perform dermatologic procedures appropriate to training and scope of practice
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Manage an independent patient schedule while collaborating with physicians when needed
Participate in quality improvement and ongoing clinical education
Qualifications
Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification
Eligible for Texas licensure
Previous professional dermatology experience as a PA or NP required
Strong knowledge of medical dermatology
Experience evaluating and treating dermatologic conditions
Ability to independently manage patient appointments
Experience performing comprehensive skin examinations
Experience with dermatology procedures within scope of practice
Strong documentation and EHR skills
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
Private dermatology practice experience
Experience managing high-volume dermatology clinics
Skin cancer evaluation experience
Dermatologic procedure experience
Cosmetic dermatology exposure
Experience working alongside board-certified dermatologists
