NP / PA – Day Shift
Coverage Overview

Provider Type: NP / PA

Shift: Day Shift
-
Schedule: Full time (3 × 12-hour shifts weekly)
-
Shift Hours: 7:00am – 7:30pm (includes time for sign-out to oncoming shift)
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
-
Typical APP-to-patient ratio: 10–15 ICU patients per APP (attending MD also available)

Collaborate with attending MDs to develop plans of care and communicate dynamic changes throughout the shift
-
Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions

Order entry and documentation in Cerner EMR, including:
-
History & Physicals
-
Consultations
-
Event / Follow-up Notes
-
Procedure Notes
-
-
Interpret diagnostic testing
-
Communicate with ICU nursing staff
-
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
-
Perform invasive procedures including (but not limited to):
-
Central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
-
Arterial line insertions
-
All procedures must comply with hospital MSO credentialing
-
Qualifications
-
NP Candidates: MUST be Acute Care Certified
-
ACNP or PA with valid national and state licensure
-
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as an APP in an ICU setting
-
Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically central and arterial line insertions
