Job description
We are seeking full-time Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to join a hospital Cardiology Department providing inpatient cardiology coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cardiology APCs who enjoy working in a collaborative hospital environment alongside another APC provider.
Providers will care for approximately 18–20 patients per shift, working closely with the cardiology team to evaluate, manage, and coordinate care for hospitalized patients. This position offers a consistent inpatient schedule with no call requirements.
Credentialing is approximately 30 days, with coverage needs beginning in December.
Job Responsibilities
Perform patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory results
Manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
Coordinate care with cardiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team
Perform appropriate procedures within scope of practice and credentialing
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the medical record
Communicate treatment plans and updates with patients, families, and the care team
Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care
Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality of care
Qualifications
Must be licensed in Washington State or eligible through the IMLC
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
DEA registration required
Must be able to obtain hospital privileges/credentialing
Approximately 30-day credentialing process
Working Hours
Schedule: Full-time
Shift Structure: Shifts are scheduled in tandem with another APC provider
Standard Shift: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Potential Shift Options: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 7:00 PM–8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM–7:00 AM, based on coverage needs
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch during the shift
Patients per Shift: Approximately 18–20
Minimum Shifts: 14–21 shifts per month
Call: None
Overtime: Paid after 40 hours per week
Start Date: December
Credentialing: Approximately 30 days
Skills
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Ability to manage a high-volume inpatient environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary cardiology team
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Comfortable working collaboratively with another APC provider
Ability to prioritize and manage approximately 18–20 patients per shift
