Job description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong background in inpatient cardiology to join an established cardiovascular care team in Trenton, NJ.
The APP will independently evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions while collaborating closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The role includes both hospital based cardiac care and coordination of ongoing outpatient management.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiology care, averaging 10–15 patients per day
• Perform detailed physical examinations & develop evidence based treatment plans
• Interpret EKGs with a high level of proficiency
• Prescribe medications & coordinate ongoing cardiac management
• Perform & interpret cardiac stress testing; training available if needed
• Collaborate with cardiologists & multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Facilitate referrals & coordinate continuity of care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation & comply with regulatory requirements
• Participate in hospital credentialing & insurance enrollment processes
Qualifications
• Active NJ DEA & CDS
• Minimum 2 years of cardiology experience as an NP or PA
• Experience independently evaluating & treating cardiac patients
• Strong EKG interpretation skills
• Prior critical care experience required
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced hospital environment
• Excellent communication, organizational & interpersonal skills
Working Hours
• Monday–Friday
• Day shifts
• No weekends
• No on call responsibilities
