Job Summary

We are seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (APRN) for a full-time opportunity with an independent cardiology practice serving the New Haven area.

The ideal candidate must have adult-population certification and real clinical cardiology exposure. New graduates may be considered if they meet both requirements through their clinical rotations or prior training.

Responsibilities

• Manage an independent patient panel under Connecticut's collaborative-practice model.

• Conduct new cardiology consultations and follow-up visits.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, and valvular disease.

• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing.

• Coordinate specialist referrals and collaborate with physicians and diagnostic staff.

• Manage chronic cardiac conditions and provide ongoing patient care.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow applicable clinical and regulatory standards.

• Provide patient education regarding cardiovascular conditions, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.

Required Qualifications

• Board-certified APRN.

• Must hold an adult-population certification, specifically:

  • AGACNP (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)

  • AGPCNP (Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner)

  • FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner)

• Active Connecticut APRN license.

• Must have real cardiology exposure, such as:

  • Cardiac ICU experience

  • Telemetry experience

  • Cardiology clinical rotations

  • Cardiology NP experience

  • Other substantial hands-on cardiovascular clinical experience

• Strong clinical, communication, and patient-care skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinical staff.
