Locum Tenens Cardiology Nurse Practitioner – Mechanicsville, VA

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This is a 100% inpatient position working alongside an Interventional Cardiologist and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cardiology NP comfortable managing hospitalized cardiac patients with a high degree of independence.

Assignment Details:

• Start Date: September 8, 2026
• Duration: Ongoing/weekly coverage
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Setting: 100% inpatient/hospital-based
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Patient Volume: Approximately 10–15+ patients per day, depending on hospital volume
• Call: Beeper/phone call, approximately 1:3–1:4
• Average Callback: Approximately 2 hours
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities:

The NP will work alongside an Interventional Cardiologist providing inpatient cardiology care. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing new patients, follow-up visits, daily rounding, documentation, discharge planning, and coordination of care.

Candidates should be comfortable working independently within their scope of practice and have strong inpatient cardiology experience.

Requirements:

• Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
• Active Virginia NP license
• Minimum 2 years of relevant or similar experience
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active DEA
• Clean professional background with no malpractice or licensing issues

Credentialing:

Credentialing will begin ASAP. Temporary privileges are available for qualified candidates.

Travel:

Approved travel expenses include airfare, lodging, and mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate.
