Job description
A growing cardiovascular surgery program is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support a newly appointed CV surgeon in Covington, Louisiana. This is a full-time, permanent role with a strong focus on first assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures and perioperative patient care.
The position offers exposure to a high-acuity surgical environment with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities in a collaborative, team-based setting.
Job Responsibilities
Perform endoscopic vein harvesting
Perform radial artery harvesting
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
Conduct inpatient rounding on assigned patients
Support outpatient clinic responsibilities
Participate in 2nd call / backup call rotation (30-minute response time)
Qualifications
Experience as First Assist in cardiovascular surgery required
Endoscopic vein harvesting experience required
Radial artery harvesting experience required
ACLS and BLS certification required
Fellowship training in cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery preferred
Working Hours
Includes call rotation (2nd call / backup)
