Job description
An established cardiology practice in central Washington is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their collaborative and multidisciplinary team. The role will involve both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including direct patient care, diagnostic evaluations, care planning, education, and occasional travel to satellite clinics. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoy a mix of clinical settings and who are passionate about cardiovascular care.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct history and physical exams for new and existing cardiology patients
Provide pre-op and post-op cardiac evaluations
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, echo, stress tests, etc.)
Develop cardiac care plans using national guidelines
Educate patients and families on cardiovascular disease and prevention
Rotate through satellite clinics (1–4 days/month)
Participate in telemedicine consults and cardiology research as needed
Collaborate with cardiologists, support staff, and the broader healthcare team
Inpatient:
Perform hospital rounds and respond to new cardiac consults
Assist with triage for NSTEMI/STEMI cases
Write daily progress notes, discharge plans, and medication reconciliations
Participate in weekend hospital coverage and call rotation
Monitor cardiac devices and assist in minor procedures (e.g., loop recorders, pacemakers)
Support ACLS/BLS efforts during emergencies
Stress Testing Duties:
Supervise exercise and pharmacologic stress testing
Identify indications, contraindications, and potential complications
Interpret arrhythmias and ensure safety protocols are followed
Qualifications
Active ARNP licensure in Washington State (or ability to obtain before start date)
Registered Nurse License in Washington
Prescriptive authority
CPR and ACLS certification
Preferred:
Prior experience in cardiology or a related specialty
Cardiology specialty certification
Working Hours
Day shift (primarily Monday–Friday)
Hospital rotations include 4x10-hour shifts, including weekend coverage as assigned
Weekend call coverage from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM (rotated)
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to interpret cardiovascular diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans
Proficient in BLS and ACLS procedures
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and EMR skills
Comfortable working independently and in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to travel to satellite locations as needed
