IU Health Ball Memorial is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our close-knit and team-oriented Cardiovascular Surgery practice at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN!

Position Details:

  • Full Time, Day Shift
  • 7 on, 14 off
  • 7:30am-4:30pm
  • 1:3 shared call (overnight, primarily for OR needs)
  • 85% inpatient / 15% outpatient
  • Work directly with 2 physicians and 3 advanced practice providers
  • Expected patient volume: 25-40 per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to patients that have cardiovascular and thoracic pathology; including cancers, valve disfunctions and other cardiovascular diseases.
  • Co-managing pre/post surgery care for patients in the hospital
  • Assisting with triage needs for patients who call into the office for needs
  • First-assisting in the OR
  • Endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Management of chest tubes and wounds
  • Thoracentesis and arterial lines

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required
  • Will accept ACNP or PA certifications
  • 3+ years of surgical APP experience required
  • Surgical cardiology and/or CV surgery experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in endovein harvesting
  • First assistant skills in the OR required
