Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – Texas | 12 & 24-Hour Shifts

We are seeking experienced Certified Nurse Midwives for an inpatient Labor & Delivery locum opportunity in Allen, Texas, beginning October 2026. This assignment offers flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts within a collaborative OB/CNM practice with 24-hour in-house OB/GYN support.

Assignment Details

• Start: October 2026
• Minimum commitment: 4 shifts per month
• Ongoing locum coverage

Schedule

• 12-hour or 24-hour shifts
• Days: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 24-hour: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• No call
• Minimum 4 shifts per month

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Labor & Delivery
• Acute care hospital
• Collaborative OB/CNM practice
• Approximately 569 births annually
• Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Labor and delivery management
• Intrapartum and postpartum care
• Perform deliveries and necessary obstetric interventions
• Fetal monitoring and assessment of labor progression
• Postpartum assessments and recovery
• Newborn care
• Lactation support
• Support natural childbirth, mobility, and hydrotherapy
• Patient-centered and shared decision-making approach

Support

• 24/7 in-house OB/GYN coverage
• 1–2 CNMs onsite together
• Pediatric Hospitalist onsite

Requirements

• Active Texas RN license
• Active Texas APRN license
• Active AMCB certification
• First Assist training required
• Active First Assist case experience required
• NRP required by start
• BLS required by start
• 2 years of intrapartum/postpartum experience preferred
• Must already hold Texas licensure – licensing assistance is not available
