Locum Certified Nurse Midwife – Washington – 24-Hour Call Coverage - (DM)

Schedule: 2–3 24-Hour Call Shifts per Week

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife for a combined inpatient and outpatient locum tenens opportunity. The role provides comprehensive obstetric care, labor and delivery coverage, and clinic support during 24-hour call shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric and gynecologic care in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
• Manage laboring patients throughout the course of labor.
• Perform vaginal deliveries.
• Assist with Cesarean sections.
• Manage inductions of labor.
• Evaluate and triage patients presenting to Labor & Delivery.
• Perform fetal scalp electrode (FSE) placement.
• Perform intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement.
• Repair Grade 1 and Grade 2 vaginal/perineal lacerations.
• Provide inpatient rounding and admissions.
• Manage approximately 1–2 deliveries per 24-hour period.
• See approximately 1–2 clinic patients during call shifts when there are no deliveries.
• Respond to patient messages and priority clinic needs as assigned.
• Work independently while collaborating with the broader OB/GYN team.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Midwife required.
• Active Washington license required at time of presentation.
• BLS certification required.
• Recent clinical experience in obstetrics and/or gynecology required.
• Must provide case logs/documentation demonstrating relevant OB/GYN clinical activity within the previous 24 months.
• Experience with vaginal delivery and labor management required.
• Experience with C-section assistance required.
• Epic EMR experience preferred/required for the assignment.

Working Hours

• All scheduled shifts are 24-hour call shifts.
• Approximately 2–3 24-hour call shifts per week.
• Maximum of approximately 5 call shifts per pay period.
• Call coverage includes inpatient Labor & Delivery.
• When there are no deliveries, the provider may be asked to see approximately 1–2 clinic patients during the call shift.
• Both day and night coverage included.
